Advance Paints is part of the dynamic Galiakotwala Group. It has diversified businesses – from Cotton trading to Engineering.Over the years, we have expanded beyond hardware trading into multiple businesses spanning various geographies across the globe. Today, the group has interests in businesses as diversified as cotton trading, industrial and decorative paints, steel packaging containers, chemical plant equipment, distribution of electronics and property development. Along with geographical reach across India, the group has engaged in significant international deals and forged collaborations with partners in over countries worldwide.

The Group employs over 200 people, with a network of 10 branches across India.

Advance Paints was established in 1945 in Mumbai. It commences operations with manufacture of General Purpose Paints and Synthetic Enamels. Subsequently it focused on High Performance Coatings for the Industrial segment. Its key focus has been the Transportation Industry (specifically the Indian Railways) and the Marine segment (specifically the Indian Navy). It has also widened its interest on the specialized Wood Coatings segment.

To meet the growing needs the company set up in 1985 its second modern plant along with a Resin manufacturing plant for captive consumption in Ankleshwar, the chemical industrial hub of India on a plot of 17,000 sq.m , it has ample scope for expansion.

The combined manufacturing capacity of both the plants at Mumbai and Ankleshwar is 10000MT of paints and~ 1000 MT of Resin per annum.

The Company’s laboratories at both Mumbai and Ankleshwar plants are well equipped with standard physical testing equipments for process control. The Company also has simulated environmental testing equipments for accelerated corrosion under salt spray, humidity, and UV radiation; and for testing adhesion failure due to cathodic disbondment.

The Company’s team of chemists is engaged on continuous product development activity to meet the varied needs of its customers.

Its in-house developed technology was strengthen with a technical licensing agreement (1995 to 2000) for Marine and High Performance Coatings, with Tambour Paints, Israel’s largest Paint Company and ranked them among the top 35 Paints Companies in the world.

The company has also had technical association with NMRL (Naval Materials Research Laboratory, Ministry of Defence) for Marine Coatings.
